If you are our Online Merchandising Manager in Malaysia, you will have a chance to

  • B2C eCommerce expertise – subject matter expert in Online Store eCommerce sales, digital marketing, campaign management and an in depth understanding of Consumer and SME Commercial needs, expectations and Online buying behaviours.
  • Online Optimisation – accountable for the testing, tracking, analysis and ongoing improvement of the Online store user experiences and Online campaigns in order to drive improvements in demand generation, conversion and average order size.
  • Ambassador of the public and private Online Stores addressing the Online eCommerce needs of both Consumer and SME customers (supporting the country sales managers).
  • Business acumen – Exhibits authoritative business, financial and legal acumen to develop meaningful business recommendations. Continuously monitors and improves area-of-control operations to ensure alignment with HP's business direction, the quality of business practices and optimum organisation performance.
  • Analytics – Uses online metrics to track and identify issues and opportunities and subsequently develop strategies and implement enhancements to increase sales performance.
  • Competitive Positioning/Strategy – Uses competitive intelligence in account planning and sales activities to develop counter strategies that will neutralise competitive influence on the customer’s buying decisions.
  • Change management – Ability to work through an environment of constant change and effectively support the country sales managers through transitions beyond their control.
  • Industry and client knowledge – Stays current with industry and competitive research and information to enable rich client dialogue; maintains an understanding of client business challenges, industry trends and eCommerce markets; demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge to position and map HP capabilities that align to client business objectives and initiatives.
  • Understand eCommerce merchandising and content strategies to drive customer engagement, conversions and reduce friction pints.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Typically 5+ years’ experience in eCommerce or online marketing roles (consumer electronics or otherwise).
  • Experience in A/B Testing, user experience optimisation, SEO and online campaign management.
  • Direct experience managing merchandising strategies in an eCommerce organisation.
  • Proven analytical thinking, project & program management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills are essential
  • A track record of proven success in past positions (delivering eCommerce online stores etc)
  • Hands-on experience in direct to consumer marketing communications, ideally in the retail and/or eCommerce space.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience managing online operations in both start-up and more complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of A/B and multi-variate testing approaches
  • Knowledge of digital marketing practices including Paid Search, Retargeting, Display Ads, Personalisation, Social Media Marketing and interactive content.
  • Thoroughly understand the competitive landscape primarily focused on navigation and customer experience and make recommendations to incorporate into the business.
  • Business start-up / implementation, incubation and development.
  • High level of understanding of web based technologies.
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment is essential for success.
