Sr. Product Manager for HP Device as a Service New Partner Solutions

The team is seeking a Product Manager with a passion for helping customers through next-generation IT services solutions.  This individual will plan new features in HP’s Device as a Service (DaaS) portfolio, working with engineering and third-party technology partners; including global partners like Google, Microsoft and Intel. This includes product planning for Proactive Management services and HP TechPulse analytics and reporting; defining technology platform, service, and software requirements to delivery new DaaS solutions to market. This role will help launch DaaS for Chromebooks, plan the future roadmap of features, help with GTM and delivery enablement, and drive new opportunities such as G Suite offers within DaaS. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will work with Worldwide and Region Go-to-market (GTM) and Marketing teams to position HP offerings, assess competition, and determine areas to drive differentiation.

The Product Manager should demonstrate unique mastery and recognized authority on DaaS, including technologies, theories and techniques. Additionally, they will:

  • Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Lead large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
  • Routinely exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.
  • Develop strategy and sets functional policy and direction.
  • Act as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.


  • Responsible for researching, identifying, and prioritizing the customer experience for new Device as a Service (DaaS) solutions.
  • Responsible to create and track product service requirements; including software, hardware, partner, and cloud infrastructure features.
  • Work closely with HP partners (e.g., Google, Microsoft, and Intel) to understand technology roadmaps and joint opportunities to deliver new customer experiences.
  • Create clear value proposition for new solutions with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications to effectively message and position offerings.
  • Assess market competition, position HP products, and determine areas to drive differentiation against competitors’ products.
  • Recommend service pricing and packaging choices by working with Offer Management, Operations, Product Marketing, and Region Marketing leaders.
  • Build strong relationships with Engineering, Region Category, and Product Marketing teams to prioritize activities needed to drive end business results.
  • Represent Product Planning and Management as a subject matter expert to customers, extended teams, and upper management.
  • Provide leadership and work within cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to team through effective collaboration and mentoring as required.
  • Regularly recommend product/service/solution strategic direction to senior management.
  • Lead projects that involve cross-functional coordination to provide integrated products/services/solutions.
  • Seen by sales team as an expert and regularly is called on to defend the benefits in front of customers or partners.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Service, software, or hardware product planning and management experience.
  • Driven, proactive and a do-er with a high sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated change agent, creative thinker and problem solver.
  • loud or thin client experience, such as Google Chrome OS, Google G Suite, Microsoft Office 365, or desktop virtualization.
  • IT transformation or modernization experience, such as moving to modern endpoint management and cloud-based technologies for device management and analytics. Technology experience may include Google Chrome Management Console, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), VMware Workspace One (AirWatch), MobileIron, IBM MaaS360 or SOTI MobiControl.
  • ITSM (IT Service Management) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) experience or certifications.
  • Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project stakeholders.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information and tailor communication style and content for a variety of audiences. Comfortable and confident presenting to executives.
  • Ability to effectively address and resolve conflict within and across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and good judgment; must be a team player, positive, flexible, and creative.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives with organizational agility.

Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree in Marketing/Business/Technical.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in product management or marketing at a technology company, a cloud or SaaS company, or large-scale cloud services vendor.
  • Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, manage and influence virtual teams.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines.
  • Excellent influencing, consensus-building and conflict-resolution skills.
